Train Updates on Udaipur route North Western Railways

Udaipur, January 20, 2025 - Following the electrification of the Udaipur-Ahmedabad track, the Vande Bharat Express is likely to start running on this route soon, possibly from February. The Indian Railways Board has initiated a proposal for a Vande Bharat train on this route. Based on the Board's verbal instructions, Western Railway Mumbai has drawn up a plan and if everything goes as planned, the Vande Bharat Express could start running between Udaipur and Asarwa (Ahmedabad) from February.

Proposed schedule for the Udaipur-Asarwa Vande Bharat:

The train will depart from Udaipur City at 6:10 am six days a week (Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday) and reach Asarwa Junction in Ahmedabad at 10:25 am. On the return journey, it will depart from Asarwa Junction at 5:45 pm and reach Udaipur at 10:00 pm. This train will have eight chair car coaches. The proposed route will have only one stop at Himmatnagar and there will be no stop at Dungarpur station.

This could be the third Vande Bharat Express to operate from Udaipur. Previously, three days a week, there were Vande Bharat trains running from Udaipur to Jaipur (Wednesday, Friday, Sunday) and three days a week from Udaipur to Agra Cantt (Monday, Thursday, Saturday).

It is worth noting that after the electrification of the Udaipur-Ahmedabad track, electric engines have been operating the Indore-Asarwa train since January 11 and the Kota-Asarwa train since January 14.
