Wings of Udaipur aviation industry have picked up the much needed speed post vaccination. The air travel has got the boost that was much required for the tourism industry in Udaipur. The aviation industry has touched the 6-figure count and it is time for all smiles.

The pandemic had forced the aviation industry to come to a sudden halt. The fear of getting infected was taking its toll and the flights were grounded. Even when all the mandates were being followed, the aviation industry was much below the normal, a figure that no one had ever imagined to be on the charts.

12 flights take off on daily basis and the connectivity circuit is being increased to enable the public to reach to their desired destinations. Air traffic is now at 72 percent with around 1 lakh 84 thousand passengers travelling between November’20 and January’21. Udaipur had witnessed a boom during Christmas and New Year celebrations. The city now has daily flights to Delhi, Mumbai, Jaipur, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad and Bengaluru.

Udaipur’s Maharana Pratap Airport had 3 passengers flying in April(7 flights), 716 in May(76 flights), 3820 in June(141), 6498 in July(183), 13583 in August(245), 18861 in September(333), 27423 in October(384), 53629 in November(545), 64850 in December(750) and 65734 in January(619). A total of 3283 flights took off from Udaipur airport and the total passenger figure touched 255117 by January end.

Since international flights have not operated during this period, Udaipur is the 2nd best holiday destination for domestic tourists. It is being hoped that once the international flights begin operations, the overall aviation industry will gain satisfactory numbers.
