Udaipur Becomes Star Attraction in Summer Tourism Push

Rajasthan Tourism promotes Udaipur as a magical summer destination despite off-season; discover top attractions, campaign highlights and travel insights

Udaipur, April 27, 2026 - Rajasthan is one very popular destination during the winter season. But, during summer vacations, tourists usually prefer visiting cooler destinations like Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Himalayan hill stations. Therefore, currently, the State is experiencing an off-season for tourism.

Tourist footfall in Udaipur decreases between April and June, although weekends still see some activity. Tourist numbers begin to rise again after the monsoon season in July.

However, to maintain tourist activities at major destinations in Rajasthan even during the summer, the Tourism Department has launched a summer tourism campaign, presenting Udaipur’s beauty as a dreamlike destination. The campaign highlights that as the sun sets, the Lake City transforms into a magical town. The golden lights of palaces reflecting in the calm lake waters create a mesmerising view for visitors.

Along with Udaipur, the campaign also promotes other destinations: Jodhpur’s Blue Houses, the grandeur of Mehrangarh Fort, the serenity of Jaswant Thada, Jaipur’s Amer Fort, Albert Hall, Hawa Mahal as well as Pushkar Sarovar in Ajmer and Kumbhalgarh Fort in Rajsamand.
