Today, on June 24, 2024, an addition to Udaipur’s eco-tourism destination is set to captivate enthusiasts from around the globe. The inauguration of the Butterfly Park at Mewar Biodiversity Park, Amberi, promises to unveil a rare butterfly species in India's biodiversity. The inauguration of several other eco-tourism destinations is scheduled to commence at today and will be graced by Assam's Governor Gulab Chand Kataria and Rajasthan's Minister of Forest & Climate Change, Science & Technology Department, Sanjay Mishra.
Rare Butterfly to be Seen in Park
The Zebra Skipper (Spialia zebra) butterfly (Ernsta zebra), discovered and meticulously documented by local butterfly expert Mukesh Panwar. The butterfly's life cycle, from egg to pupa, along with its dietary habits revolves around the Melhania futteyporensis plant. Deputy Forest Conservator Ajay Chittora expressed enthusiasm, highlighting the park's potential to attract tourists domestically and internationally.
Inauguration of Several Eco-Tourism Destinations
The inaugurations will start from Luv Kush Vatika in Dudh Talai at 3:15 PM, followed by the Butterfly Park inauguration and the Children's Adventure Zone ceremony at Mewar Biodiversity Park. Subsequently, the eco-tourism adventure zone at Nagar Van Udhyan (Valley of Flowers) at Chirwa and the Lion Safari at Sajjangarh Biological Park will be inaugurated. Later in the evening, at 6:00 PM, the dignitaries will also lay the foundation stone for an anicut at Ubeshwar.
