Monsoon Attractions

The Monsoon Palace, perched atop a hill 5 km from the city center at an altitude of 3000 feet, offers breathtaking views, especially during the monsoon. Sajjangarh Sanctuary serves as the city's green oasis, home to diverse wildlife such as sloth bears and sambar. Pichola Lake entices visitors with thrilling sunset boat rides, while the Valley of Flowers in Amber has emerged as a new tourist hotspot, adorned in lush greenery during the monsoon. Adventure enthusiasts can enjoy activities like zip-lining and eco trails in these scenic locales. Nearby Rayta Hills, 20 km from the city, transform into verdant landscapes during this season, hosting a bustling market.

Tourism Promotion Efforts

In efforts to boost monsoon tourism, both the Tourism Department and the Incredible India campaign have launched marketing initiatives. They have shared captivating videos on social media showcasing the natural beauty along a road trip from Udaipur to Nathdwara, Kumbhalgarh, and Mount Abu. Special emphasis has been placed on promoting night tourism, highlighting stunning sunset vistas in their promotional materials.

Global Recognition

Udaipur's charm has not gone unnoticed on the global stage. Recently, Travel + Leisure magazine awarded Udaipur the second place among the world's top 10 most beautiful cities, ranking it number one in Asia and as the sole representative from India.

National Acclaim

Domestically, Udaipur continues to shine. Travel and Leisure named it the sixth best monsoon destination in India, while Thrillophilia hailed it as the country's premier wedding destination among the top 14.

Visitor Numbers

Last year, Udaipur welcomed a significant influx of tourists during the monsoon season, totaling 458,229 visitors from July to September, underscoring its growing popularity as a must-visit destination.
