Udaipur City Station Gets Electric Loco Trip Inspection Shed

Udaipur, Feb 26, 2026 - An Electric Loco Trip Inspection Shed has been set up at the Udaipur City railway station giving a major boost to railway infrastructure under the Ajmer division. Furthermore, Stabling Line No. 9 has been converted into a running line along with a new passenger platform line (Line No. 10). Other related works, including Signalling, have also been completed.

The newly established trip shed includes:

• Two inspection pits
• One TRD office/depot building
• Completed OHE (Overhead Equipment) work for the shed

The project was successfully executed through coordinated efforts of the Gati Shakti Unit and other departments of the Ajmer Division.

According to Divisional Railway Manager Raju Bhutada, the development will enhance operational efficiency and strengthen station infrastructure.

Electric Loco Trip Inspection Shed

An Electric Loco Trip Inspection Shed in Indian Railways is a facility for short-duration inspections and minor repairs of electric locomotives to ensure locomotives remain safe and reliable during operations.

Key functions include:

• Detailed inspection of locomotives
• Cleaning and safety system checks
• Inspection of pantographs
• Brake system examination
• Preventive checks to avoid mid-journey failures

Conversion of Line No. 9 into a running line will significantly improve operational capacity. Additionally, the introduction of the new Platform Line No. 10 will enhance connectivity and streamline train movement.

Remaining OHE work on Lines 9 and 10 will be completed during upcoming traffic blocks. The construction of Platform No. 6 on the new Line No. 10 is targeted for completion by April 30, 2026.
