In a recent recognition by travel portal Thrillophilia, Udaipur has been ranked as the leading wedding destination among the top 14 in India. This accolade highlights Udaipur's growing popularity for hosting lavish destination weddings. Alongside Udaipur, Rajasthan features prominently with five cities including Jodhpur, Jaipur, Bikaner and Jaisalmer, showcasing the state's allure for grand celebrations. Jaipur secured the 5th position, while Jaisalmer stands at the 11th spot on the list.

Rajasthan and Uttarakhand in Spotlight

Following Rajasthan's lead, Uttarakhand's Mussoorie and Jim Corbett have also been identified as best for destination weddings. Udaipur stands out for its picturesque settings combining heritage palaces with serene lakes, offering a diverse range of venues from opulent palaces and forts to luxurious and affordable hotels, catering to varied budgets.

Global Appeal and Local Participation

Udaipur hosts over 500 destination weddings annually, drawing participants from around the globe including Canada, USA, UK, UAE, Australia, Singapore, France, Germany, and South Africa, among others. Additionally, guests from various Indian states such as Hyderabad, West Bengal, Chennai, Bangalore, Kerala, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Jharkhand, Punjab, Haryana, and Himachal Pradesh frequent the city for these picturesque weddings. Budgets for these events span from Rs 50 lakhs to Rs 5 crores. 

Charm of Udaipur's Attractions

Thrillophilia's portal also commended Udaipur's scenic lakes and vibrant markets. Sunset boating at Pichola and Fatehsagar lakes is highlighted as a captivating experience. Visitors can explore local markets like Shilpgram, Bada Bazaar, and Mochiwada, renowned for traditional Rajasthani handicrafts such as Bandhani sarees, handmade shoes, silver jewellery, and bags.

Shikha Saxena, Deputy Director of the Tourism Department, highlighted Udaipur's evolution as a prime destination for memorable weddings. The city's blend of cultural heritage and modern amenities continues to attract couples seeking a fairy-tale setting for their special day.
