Holi 2025: Udaipur’s Old City Hotels in High Demand

Udaipur, March 11, 2025 - Udaipur will have a long 4-day holiday during Holi 2025, and the tourism department has already started preparations. Special packages are being offered to tourists. Holika Dahan will be celebrated on March 13, followed by Dhulandi on March 14. The weekend holidays on March 15 (Saturday) and March 16 (Sunday) will make it a 4-day break.

Every year, Udaipur sees a rise in tourists during Holi. Visitors start arriving a week before the festival. This year, bookings have already begun, and around 70% of hotels are already reserved. Special packages are available in hotels and resorts, including 2-night and 3-night stays priced at Rs 12,000/- and Rs 15,000/-.

Foreign Tourists Join the Celebrations

Many foreign tourists are interested in Holi celebrations. Udaipur’s Old City sees the most crowd during this time. The City Palace hosts special celebrations where guests, foreign tourists, and dignitaries take part in the Holika Dahan ceremony. 

Old City Hotels in High Demand

Rakesh Chaudhary, Secretary of the Hotel Association of South Rajasthan, stated that most tourists are booking hotels in the Old City. There are over 50 hotels near Gangaur Ghat and Jagdish Temple, along with many homestays.

Udaipur Ranked Among Top Holi Destinations

Travel portal Travel Triangle has listed Udaipur as the 9th best place in India to celebrate Holi. Jaipur secured the 10th rank. The portal highlighted that Holi in Udaipur is celebrated in a royal manner.

Rajasthan Tops List of Best Places to Visit in March

The travel portal Outlook Travel has ranked Rajasthan as the best destination to visit in March. Udaipur was listed as the top city, followed by Jaipur and Jaisalmer. The portal recommended famous places like Lake Pichola, City Palace, Bagore Ki Haveli, Sajjangarh, and Fateh Sagar.

Surendra Kumar, Treasurer of the Udaipur Travel Agent Association, said that Udaipur and Pushkar have become the top destinations in Rajasthan for Holi. This has led to a surge in package bookings, especially among foreign tourists.
