A group of 75 foreign tourists organized by the prestigious National Geographic Expedition is set to embark on a captivating journey around the world from September 4 to September 25, 2024. Udaipur, known for its rich history and cultural heritage, has been chosen as the exclusive stop in India for this remarkable expedition. Deputy Director of the Tourism Department, Shikha Saxena, expressed her enthusiasm, highlighting the global viewership of National Geographic. Udaipur's inclusion in the expedition for the second consecutive time reflects its fame as the best destination for travel.

The tourists will stay at the iconic Lake Palace during their two-day stay in Udaipur. The itinerary includes visits to the majestic City Palace, exploration of the serene Pichola Lake with boating activities, and a stroll through the bustling markets of the old city. Additionally, the group will have the opportunity to witness traditional miniature paintings at a local artist's studio.

A special program awaits the tourists at a handicraft center dedicated to skill development. This initiative focuses on training and empowering female artisans, contributing to their upliftment from poverty. The previous warm reception of foreign tourists in Udaipur in September 2021, who arrived via private jet, played a pivotal role in the city finding its place in the National Geographic Expedition once again after three years.

Sponsored by National Geographic, the tourists will travel in a specially configured Boeing 757 as part of the World Tour program. The 21-day journey, commencing from Seattle, USA and concluding in Washington DC, will traverse America, Europe, Africa and the Asian continent.

For those interested in joining this extraordinary adventure, online ticket bookings have commenced. The double occupancy fare for this once-in-a-lifetime experience is Rs 82,85,120, and for single occupancy, it will cost Rs 91,13,259.
