Udaipur Jaipur holiday express train will hence forward be only 2nd class general train. Even the name of the train will be changed to Antyodaya Express.

All India Trains at a glance and North Western Railway have given this information in their time table. The Udaipur-Jaipur holiday express train will be known as Antyodaya Express and be converted to 2nd class general train. The category of the train now will remain as is till the orders are issued for these changes.

Table number 54 and 54 A of All India Trains at a glance has highlighted this new change to be implemented soon. AC coupes and 2nd class sitting coaches will no longer be available in this train. All the coaches will be converted to 2nd class general category and will be inter-connected. The colour of the train will be changed to cherry from blue. As stated in the website these changes will be implemented soon. Presently the train leaves Udaipur at 3 p.m. and reaches Jaipur by 10 p.m.

It has been declared that the fare of this train will be comparatively higher than Intercity, Chetak and Khajuraho express. Superfast surcharge will also be levied. Though the website says that the fare will be 15 percent of the general express trains yet the exact fare has not been mentioned on the website.

The train fare is not going to have a positive effect on anybody’s pocket. Since it is going to be a general category train where reservations will not be done, it will pose to be troublesome for the aged people, ladies and children.

Neither reservation nor special class

Since prior reservation facility will not be available for this train, it will not have any special class as well. Students, divyangs, visually impaired, sick and ailing and even special concession fares will not be available. Overall the train is not likely to be appreciated by the masses.

One of the public representative also remarked that opinions were not taken from the representatives. Arjun Lal Meena said that he will put forward this issue in the next budget session of the parliament.
