The tourism season has officially begun, and from October 1, jeep safaris will resume across all tiger reserves and sanctuaries in the state. The Forest Department has made all necessary preparations for the start of safaris in Jaisamand, Kumbhalgarh, and Bassi sanctuaries, located in the Udaipur division.
Free Safari for Children in Kumbhalgarh
On the first day of the season in Kumbhalgarh, 100 children will enjoy a free safari. Local school students will be taken on a ride and educated about the wildlife present in the sanctuary. Kumbhalgarh Sanctuary operates two safari trips daily, and 53 registered vehicles are available for visitors.
Safari in Jaisamand Sanctuary
In Jaisamand Sanctuary, located in Udaipur district, the Forest Department has repaired the safari tracks in preparation for the season. Safaris will take place in two time slots—6:00 AM to 9:00 AM in the morning and 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM in the evening. Currently, 5 vehicles are operating in the sanctuary, and tickets are priced at Rs 649/- per person.
Wildlife and Tracks in Jaisamand
Jaisamand Sanctuary offers two safari tracks—one 14 km and another 22 km long. The sanctuary is home to various wildlife species, including leopards, wild boars, bears, blue bulls (nilgai), peacocks, and monkeys. The entry gate for the sanctuary is located on the Udaipur-Banswara Highway.
Booking Options and Seasonal Closure
Visitors can book safari tickets both online and offline. It is important to note that jeep safaris in all sanctuaries and tiger reserves are closed from July 1 to September 30 every year due to the monsoon season.
