Udaipur Gears Up to Host National Tourism Conference, Strengthening Its MICE Credentials

The Ministers, officials and other policy making stakeholders of the Tourism ecosystem of India will meet at Udaipur to frame policies pertaining to India's Tourism Roadmap

Udaipur, September 28, 2025: Udaipur is constantly endeavoring to build its hub as a MICE destination of choice. Over the last few years, the City of Lakes has been in the limelight for hosting political and policy conferences across a number of domains. Why should tourism be left behind?

This October, the Ministers of Tourism and officials of the tourism department across all States and Union Territories of India will converge at Udaipur to brainstorm on India's tourism ecosystem. There will be discussions on issues related ot tourism across India and policy matters. This conference will kick start the endeavor to develop policies and define a road map for tourism to India. The two day conference, from October 15-16 will be chaired by the Union Minister of Tourism and Culture, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat.

The stakeholders will present their innovations related to enhancing tourism in their respective areas and discuss policy matters related to such. Those States and UTs who are leading tourism in the country will showcae best practices to the participants and stakeholders will be made aware of the challenges being currently faced by the tourism industry and brainstorm on optimal solutions. The tourism ministry and departments will highlight ongoing schemes and discussion will also include the future of digital and sustainable tourism across India.

A conference of this scale where government officials from the central and state ministry are involved, closely follows the two-day national Chintan Shivir on rural development that was organised in Udaipur on September 4 and 5, 2025.

A team from the tourism department at Delhi will be visiting Udaipur this week to take stock of the preparations at Udaipur for this high level conference.
