Udaipur, Aug 26, 2025: Signaling a smart initiative by the Railways, an under bridge (Road Under Bride - RUB) between Udaipur City Railway Station and Ranapratap Railway Station will soon enhance traffic and passenger movement, specially giving relief to residents of Nokha village in Udaipur.

The Udaipur Development Authority has transferred Rs 4.33 Crore to the Railways as a part of the UDA's budget allotment to begin work on the under bridge. This was a part of the Chief Ministers Budget Announcement for 2024-25.

About Nokha Village

Around 50 years ago, the construction of a meter gauge railway line by the Railway Department caused a division of Nokha village into two sections (north and south). As a result, residents in the Nokha area had to cross the railway line to access their fields. Additionally, since the village's cremation ground is situated to the north, locals need to cross the railway line to reach the ground as well, all of this adding to the constant risk of accidents. Additionally, with the conversion of the railway line from Himmat Nagar to Udaipur City Railway Station, the issue has escalated due to an increase in train traffic.

Proposal and Transfer of Funds to Railways

A public representation to the administration and to the Chief Minister, the under bridge was included in the state budget for the financial year 2024-25. In order to comply with this, a joint spot inspection was done by the technical officer of the Railway Department and the technical officers of Udaipur Development Authority. After the inspection, the Authority prepared a detailed technical proposal of the project and shared it with Railway Department. Detailed engineering survey and G.A.D. were prepared by the consultant appointed by the UDA and submitted to the Railway Department. An estimate of Rs. 4,33,23,477.65 was prepared by the Railway Department for the construction of Pre-Cast Boxcell and presented to the UDA. In the meeting of the Executive Committee of the Authority, the administrative and financial amount of Rs. 4,33,23,477.65 was released for the work.
