Traveller's to Indian destinations have voted Rajasthan as the favorite state in India for Road Trips and Udaipur's The Leela Hotel has been voted as the best Wedding Destination and Spa in the Readers' Travel Awards 2021 by Condé Nast Traveller.

Rajasthan stood second to Goa as the Favorite Leisure Destination. The Spa at the Leela Hotel in Udaipur ranked above the rest and Udaipur's Premkunj was the runner-up as the Favorite Homestay in India.

Like every year, a two month long readers' voting process culminated this week, where readers' without any nomination obligations, voted for their favotire destinations in terms of city, state and property or airlines in different categories of the Readers' Travel Awards. The Indian readers voted for their best travel destinations, mode, foreign travel favorites among others and the cities of Rajasthan stood above the rest in most categories.

Properties in Udaipur did seemingly well, with The Leela Hotel being voted as the best Spa and Wedding destination in India. Another surprise winner was Premkunj Homestay of Udaipur that was judged among the top two favorite homestays in India. Rajasthan beat Himachal Pradesh as the favorite Indian state for Road Trips and the state was also voted among the top two leisure destinations in India, along with Goa.

Among the other properties of Rajasthan that took top spot were The Oberoi Vanyavilas Resort at Ranthambore that was voted the favorite Safari Lodge in India; Rambagh Palace of Jaipur that was judged the favorite Wedding Hotel in India, second to The Leela, Udaipur; Umaid Bhavan at Jodhpur and Alila Fort Bishangarh at Jaipur, which took the first and second place respectively for favorite Indian Heritage Hotels and Samode Haveli in Jaipur, that stood second to The Khyber at Gulmarg as the favorite Indian Boutique Hotel.

The Condé Nast Traveller Readers' Travel Awards 2021 were presented in partnership with Kotak White Credit Card. Prizes for the winners of the RTA Survey were sponsored by member properties of Preferred Hotels & Resorts, the world’s largest independent hotel brand, representing more than 700 distinctive hotels, resorts, residences and unique hotel groups across 80 countries.

This year’s survey saw a record-breaking response from the readers of Condé Nast Traveller, pointing to the urge to travel despite all the challenges.
