Udaipur Sends Off Senior Citizens on Free Pilgrimage Train

Pilgrim Train

A train carrying senior citizens from Udaipur departed on September 20,2024 under the Rajasthan government's free pilgrimage scheme. The train left Rana Pratap Nagar railway station at 1:30 PM, heading to Ayodhya, Haridwar, and Rishikesh. This is the third train organized for senior citizens, following two earlier departures from the state.

A total of 546 passengers from Udaipur and Banswara divisions were on board. This included 267 from Udaipur and Salumber, 89 from Rajsamand, 58 from Chittorgarh, 49 from Pratapgarh, 44 from Dungarpur, and 39 from Banswara. Additionally, 100 passengers from Kota division boarded at Kota station, and 100 more from Bharatpur division boarded at Sawai Madhopur.

The train was flagged off by Udaipur City MLA Tarachand Jain, along with BJP leaders including Chandragupta Singh Chauhan and Deepak Sharma. Assistant Commissioner Jatin Kumar Gandhi and Inspector Sunil Kumar Meena were also present at the event.

In total, 780 passengers are travelling, which includes a train in-charge gazetted officer, a medical team, and 20 attendants. All the senior citizens seemed very excited about visiting Ram Temple. 

The next train for senior citizens from Udaipur is scheduled to depart for Ayodhya, Haridwar, and Rishikesh on September 27, 2024.
