Udaipur-Surat Vande Bharat Service Likely Before Navratri

UdaipurTimes, Sept 14, 2026 - Indian Railways is likely to initiate operations of the Udaipur–Surat Vande Bharat Express in the last week of September or the first week of October. Although no date has yet been officially announced, speculations are that the service will begin on time to meet with the Navratri passenger rush.
The Udaipur–Surat Vande Bharat Express will run six days a week, except on Tuesdays and is expected to cover a distance of approximately 694 km between the two cities in just 7 hours 30 minutes vis-a-vis the 13-hour journey earlier.
Surat–Udaipur Vande Bharat Express will depart from Surat at 6:10 am and arrive in Udaipur at 1:40 pm.
Train No. 26904 Udaipur–Surat Vande Bharat Express will depart from Udaipur at 3:35 pm and reach Surat at 11:00 pm.
The train will have scheduled stops at Zawar, Dungarpur, Shamlaji Road, Himmatnagar, Asarva (Ahmedabad), Maninagar, Anand, Vadodara and Bharuch in both directions.
The introduction of the Vande Bharat service between Udaipur and Surat is expected to provide significant benefits to the Mewar region in terms of trade, employment and transportation and also provide easier connectivity to the southern States of India.
