Udaipur, November 26,2024 - Rajasthan has emerged as one of the top destinations to celebrate the New Year, as highlighted in a list released by online travel portal Travel Triangle. Four cities from the state namely Udaipur, Jaipur, Jaisalmer, and Pushkar are included in the list of the top 25 destinations in India for New Year celebrations.
Udaipur, known as the "City of Lakes," is a popular choice for New Year celebrations. Its luxurious dinner cruises, natural beauty, and pleasant weather make it an ideal destination. Travel Triangle notes that Udaipur offers a variety of stays suitable for all budgets, many of which host special New Year’s Eve events. Additionally, pubs in the city provide lively celebrations for partygoers.
Udaipur attracts tourists from Rajasthan and neighboring states such as Gujarat, Maharashtra, New Delhi, Madhya Pradesh, and Uttar Pradesh, especially during the New Year season.

Tourists have already begun booking accommodations for the New Year. Packages at five-star hotels and resorts are priced between Rs 30,000/- and Rs 40,000/- for one-day stays, including New Year parties. Major resorts, lakeside hotels, and villas are fully booked from December 26, 2024, to January 2, 2025.
Adding to the festive buzz, the Shilpgram Festival will be held in Udaipur from December 21 to 30, attracting over 1.5 lakh visitors annually.
The tourism sector in Rajasthan is expected to flourish in December due to the cold weather, school holidays, and Christmas and New Year celebrations. Tourism-related activities are projected to generate over Rs 4,000 crore by the end of the month.
Popular destinations like Udaipur, Jaipur, Jodhpur, and Jaisalmer are witnessing a surge in hotel and resort bookings. Experts estimate that over 2.5 crore domestic and international tourists will visit Rajasthan in December alone.
From January to November 2024, Rajasthan recorded 15.66 crore domestic and 13.82 lakh international tourists. By March 2025, this number is expected to cross 20 crore.
Tourism in Rajasthan is a significant contributor to the economy. Every tourist visiting the state generates employment for 32 individuals, according to Bhagat Singh Lohagarh, operator of Palace on Wheels and resorts.
From December to March, the tourism industry is expected to provide direct and indirect employment to 10 lakh youths, as per Ran Vijay Singh, Senior Vice President of the Hotel Federation of Rajasthan.
