Udaipur tourist data of 2016 broke the record of 2015 by witnessing a growth of almost 55000 tourists. As per the stats available, December 2016 saw 7 lakh 62 thousand Indian tourists and 1 lakh 83 thousand foreign tourists. Indian tourists outnumbered all in 2016.
Until now it was expected that the demonetisation factor would vastly affect the tourism industry, but the city saw exactly the opposite. The growing numbers very obviously have made every hotelier confident of the fact that their income and livelihood would continue as always and since the monetary transactions have gone digital, it has become convenient for them to carry on business in the wider perspective. Though some smaller organisations who mainly survive on regular cash transactions may be in for a loss, but they know that this is short lived and will get them fruits sooner or later.
The tourist season is still on and it is expected that by the end of February, the graph will rise even more giving a good beat to the records of the last five years.
