For the safety of semi-high-speed trains such as Vande Bharat, fencing will be installed on both sides of the track, covering a distance of up to 400 kilometers. The railway authorities have pinpointed areas where the likelihood of animals straying onto the tracks is higher. Work has commenced in some locations and the tender process is currently in progress for the remaining sections.

Fencing will be installed within a 2-kilometer radius around several major stations between Udaipur and Ajmer. The work has already begun at stations like Bhilwara, Nasirabad, Bijainagar and Soniyana. Fencing is also in progress along the route from Nathdwara to Haripur. The construction of fencing, including concrete walls and bamboo safety walls, is planned between Udaipur to Himmatnagar, between Zawar and Jaisamand and between Jaisamand and Semari.

Speed Will Be Increased

The speed of semi-high-speed trains, such as Vande Bharat, will increase thanks to safety walls on the tracks. These trains will also reduce incidents of collisions with animals and incidents of stone-pelting. Currently, Vande Bharat has been approved to run at 110 km per hour between Udaipur and Jaipur, and at 130 km per hour between Ajmer and Jaipur.
