Udaipur, January 3, 2025 - A meeting of the Udaipur Zoological Development Trust was held on Thursday, January 2, 2025. The meeting focused on the development, conservation, and improvement of the sanctuary, biological park, bird park, and the Baghdarrah Crocodile Conservation Area.
The main topics discussed included the proposed Bird Festival and the inauguration of the Lion Safari, which is set to open on January 16, 2025. The Divisional Commissioner directed officials to make all necessary arrangements for the event.
The issue of entry fees for the safari was also deliberated. Officials reviewed the ongoing construction work at the bird park. Member Secretary and Assistant Forest Conservator Devendra Kumar Tiwari noted that the expansion of facilities has led to an increase in tourist visits. District Collector Arvind Poswal, UDA Commissioner Rahul Jain, and Chief Conservator of Forests (CCF) SRV Murthi suggested measures to promote eco-tourism.
Assistant Forest Conservator Tiwari also confirmed that preparations for the Lion Safari are complete. A healthy pair of Asiatic lions, brought from Gujarat, are ready for display. The Reptile Park at the Biological Park is also ready for visitors.
To boost tourism, Divisional Commissioner Kevalramani instructed officials to carry out publicity for the wildlife sanctuary, biological park, and other eco-tourism destinations in the area.
