Wait for one more year to see train running on Udaipur-Ahmedabad broadgauge track.

Masses are waiting desperately for train from Udaipur to Ahmedabad. The work on the broadgauge is in the final stage but will require around a year to be functional. The biggest task on this track is that of tunnel between Kharwa Chanda and Jawar. This tunnel is 7.5 metre X 8 metre. Work is in progress.
The tunnel work is being done at a speed of 1.5 metre to 1.8 metre per day which means that 270 metres have been dug since June. The work is likely to be completed by the end of 2020 as it is being done at both ends simultaneously.
The tunnel is quite likely to sport the look of Chirwa tunnel. It will have a good arrangement of lights at the ceiling and will have emergency pockets at certain intervals. Work has been done upto a distnce of 14 kms from Udaipur to Kharwa. The line will be checked by Commissioner, Railway Safety in December.
