Udaipur-Ahmedabad railway broad-gauge to have almost 1000 bridges!
The much awaited broad gauge railway line between Udaipur and Ahmedabad will have a whooping 990 small and large bridges. Udaipur-Himmatnagar segment has about 690 bridges while Himmatnagar-Ahmedabad stretch will have 300 bridges.

The railway line running through Aravalli ranges is set to have its own charm. Udaipur-Dungarpur stretch has 22 big bridges out of which work has been completed on 15 bridges. The biggest bridge on this stretch has been made on Som river. This bridge has 12 pillars and will be 230 metres long.
Out of total 690 bridges between Udaipur and Himmatnagar, work is still ongoing for 50 bridges. Out of 40 big bridges, 33 have been completed. The stretch between Himmatnagar and Ahmedabad has 300 bridges out of which 4 are big bridges while others are small.
Interestingly, the train will also pass above at an height of 38 metres at Kevde ki Naal. The current metre gauge line has a height of 32 metres while the broad gauge line will be even higher.
