UdaipurTimes, Oct 16, 2026 - The Union Ministry of Railways has issued the final declaration for land acquisition for the doubling of the Umarda-Debari rail section. The land acquired for the 24.78-kilometre railway track doubling project between Umarda and Debari is now free from all hurdles and has formally come under the control of the Central Government.

Earlier, on June 1, the government had issued a land acquisition notification under the Railways Act, following which six objections were received. After examining and considering all the objections, the competent authority rejected them and submitted its report to the Central Government.

The doubling of the 24.78-kilometre railway track between Umarda and Debari is expected to improve the punctuality of train operations. Once the project is completed, it will strengthen rail connectivity in Udaipur district. Two trains will be able to travel along the section simultaneously without obstruction, improving operational efficiency and strengthening rail connectivity in the region.
