The new year is surely bringing in happy surprises for Udaipur. Mechanical Car Parks, organized Traffic Management, a reduced COVID count and now an exemplary effort by AVINS, a brand of Shubh Group of Udaipur, who have taken upon themselves the mantle of re-incarnating the roundabouts of Udaipur.

Redoing a roundabout is not something that has not been done before, but here the concept is out of the box.  Usually, we see roundabouts and chaurahas showcasing statues of revered leaders, historical figures and politicians. This time, the thought process is unique.

Two of the oldest roundabouts of Udaipur – Shiksha Bhawan Chauraha and Lok Kala Mandal Chauraha at Panchwati in Udaipur are seeing a facelift of a different kind. The roundabouts will have murals that depict the theme behind the name by which the roundabout is known.

Hence Shiksha Bhawan Chauraha is being done up with the Shiksha (Knowledge) theme, while Lok Kala Mandal Chauraha or Panchwati Chauraha will showcase a mural depicting traditional craft of Lok Kala (local art) for which Lok Kala Mandal in Udaipur is known. Lok Kala Mandal is hardly 200 meters away from this chauraha.

Another unique nature of this concept is that whomsoever adopts a roundabout, gives it a name that depicts the adoptee brand, firm or individual. However, this time AVINS has ensured that the name retains its traditional nomenclature while at the same time showcasing the theme behind the traditional name.  These roundabouts are set to become one of the most visited tourist attractions of modern Udaipur.
