Masar Project

Udaipur, March 21, 2025 - The Masar Destination project has been designed to support the increasing number of visitors, especially Hajj and Umrah pilgrims. The project features a 3.6 km pedestrian-only boulevard, called MASAR front, linking the Haramain High-Speed Rail Station to the Great Mosque in Makkah. Masar Destination simply known as Masar, is a real-estate development project under construction in Mecca, Saudi Arabia.

The Masar Destination project is developed by Umm Alqura for Development and Construction (UAQ), one of the companies owned by the Saudi Public Investment Fund. The project is part of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, which aims to welcome 30 million Umrah pilgrims by 2030. The project was officially announced by UAQ in June 2020.

Masar Project

Improved Walkability and Crowd Management

The boulevard is divided into six different zones, each with unique commercial spaces. This design helps manage large crowds and make walking easier for pilgrims. The MASAR front reduces car dependency by providing access to the Haramain train station, future metro stations, bus stops, and car parks.

Masar Project

Comfortable Design for Pilgrims

To protect visitors from the desert heat, the project includes shade trees and misting systems for cooling. The use of sustainable materials and AI-based crowd management will help ensure a smooth experience for all.

Masar Project

Blending Tradition with Modernity

The architecture combines Islamic design with modern construction. Elements like wave lines on pavements and shade canopies inspired by Islamic stone vaults create a unique and recognizable landmark in Makkah.

Masar Project

Masar Destination will make Makkah a world-class city for spiritual tourism, offering a safe and comfortable experience for pilgrims. It is a major step towards Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, enhancing both sustainability and urban development in the holy city.
