Udaipur City Railway Station is set to enhance its operational capacity as Tracks 9 and 10 will soon be connected from the Umra side; work is in the final stage

Udaipur, Feb 4, 2026 - Udaipur City Railway Station is soon to witness a signficant expansion of the rail network. In the coming days, Track Numbers 9 and 10 will be connected from the Umra side, which will substantially improve train halts and overall movement at the station.

Railway authorities are carrying out the work at a fast pace and it has now reached the final stage. A traffic block is likely to be taken between February 15 and 20 to complete the remaining work.

At present, Udaipur City Railway Station has five platforms and 11 tracks. Of these, two tracks are used as pit lines, one track remains incomplete and the remaining eight tracks exist for operations. Currently, only six tracks are connected to the main line from both sides and are actively used for train movement.

Platform Number 9 is currently connected only from the Rana Pratap Nagar side, while Platform Number 10 is not connected from either side. With the proposed work, both platforms will be linked to the Umra line. Once completed, trains will be able to arrive and depart from both sides on Track Number 9, while Track Number 10 will allow trains to enter from the Umra side.

This upgrade will significantly enhance the operational capacity of Udaipur City Railway Station and ease train handling during peak hours.
