Valley Queen Heritage Train Will Chug On Till Sept 30

The Valley Queen Heritage Train between Marwar Junction and Khambli Ghat will now run till September 30, boosting tourism in Rajasthan’s scenic Aravalli region

April 6, 2026 - An important decision has been taken by Indian Railways regarding the operation of the region’s famous heritage rail service running between Marwar Junction-Khambli Ghat–Marwar Junction. The service of the Valley Queen Heritage Special train will now continue beyond its previously scheduled period as it is expected to promote regional tourism.

According to North Western Railway’s Chief Public Relations Officer Amit Sudarshan, Train No. 00961/00962 Valley Queen Heritage Special metre gauge rail service has been extended from April 1 to September 30. Earlier, as per the previous schedule, the train was to operate only until March 31.

The Valley Queen Heritage Special is emerging as a special attraction not only for locals but also for visitors from outside the region as  it chugs through 100-year-old tunnels and multiple bridges. This heritage train passes through the scenic ghat section of the Aravalli region, offering passengers a unique blend of natural beauty and historic rail travel as it goes through the scenic Goramghat valley. The train, which has one AC executive coach (Vistadome), two coaches and one power car, has become a major attraction among tourists and railway enthusiasts.
