Weekend and Janmashtmi have given 4 good days to people to celebrate both Independence day and birth of Lord Krishna. As a result of the 4 day long weekend, tourists have also flocked in Udaipur city.

Lakecity Udaipur is experiencing happy hours of monsoon tourism these days. With the 4 day long weekend, tourists have flocked into the city to enjoy beautiful weather and to celebrate Independence Day and Janmashtmi both. With the lakes giving a breathtaking view and greenery at its peak, tourists have not been able to stop themselves from visiting Udaipur. Each and every hotel accommodation is booked. Whether big or small, the hotel industry is enjoying this monsoon season. Since Independence Day is right here, and Janmashtmi falling the same day, not a single room is available in hotels now.

Tourism industry is hopeful of a good tourist season this year since the beginning of the season has proved to be amazingly fruitful. Komal SinghChauhan, President of Guide Association, said that after a long time, Udaipur is witnessing domestic tourists in great numbers. Every spot of the city is full of tourists since the weekend began on Saturday making it a long vacation time.

A number of Gujarati and Marathi tourists can be seen in the city this season for Janmashtmi celebrations. This year a lot of tourists have come from New Delhi. Increase in number of flights to and from Udaipur has had a direct impact on tourist numbers. As per Vishva Vijay Singh, President of Hotel Association, tourism and aviation are linked to each other. More the number of flights, more the tourists. As soon as more aircrafts are added in the month of October, foreign tourists numbers will also increase. Advance bookings have been done by tourists for the season October to March which proves that tourism industry is on its peak for 2017-18.

A lot of domestic and foreign groups are expected this year. The whole year is expected to leave tour operators breathless which is obviously a much needed aspect. Last year 62148 domestic tourists and 13190 foreign tourists visited Udaipur. This year the city is sure to cross the numbers for 2017-18.
