Ireland Specialists is Tourism Ireland’s e-learning travel trade training programme, which educates international travel trade about the island of Ireland. Agents must study six modules and complete quizzes in an attempt to obtain a perfect score and the prestigious gold Ireland Specialists certificate. This certificate symbolises an expert knowledge of holidays to the island of Ireland.

The Ireland Specialist programme recently launched a brand new website, www.irelandspecialists.com, where users learn all about the island of Ireland as a tourism destination and take the Ireland Specialist quiz. Since launching earlier this year, over 1,000 travel trade members across the world have signed up for the programme and over one third of these users have earned a gold Ireland Specialists certificate, letting potential visitors know that they are experts on the island of Ireland.

This week, from Sunday 29^th April to Friday 4^th May, the island of Ireland will host the fourth annual Ireland Specialists Mega Fam trip. Eight top performing agents from four markets, The United Arab Emirates, Qatar, China and India have travelled to Ireland and battle it out in daily challenges to be crowned the 2018 Emerald Ireland Specialist. Challenges are designed to test the Ireland Specialists expert knowledge on the island of Ireland; the challenges will include food and sporting challenges as well as a competitive, high-tech treasure hunt around Dublin City.

As well as competing for the title, the agents will experience many of the key visitor attractions that the island of Ireland has to offer.

Ireland Specialist agents will explore Ireland’s Ancient East where they will visit Ireland’s National Stud and Kildare Village shopping outlet. The agents will visit the stunning cliffs of Moher and Galway city before departing for Dublin city. In Dublin they will experience Ireland’s delicious food scene, vibrant city life and the historic and iconic walls of Trinity College Dublin and the Guinness Storehouse.

In Northern Ireland they will experience the rich history of Belfast city, the mystery of the Giant’s Causeway before braving the Carrick-a-Rede rope bridge.
