The six lane highway channel on the National Highway stretch between Udaipur and Chittorgarh is in its final stages as per the authorities at NHAI. Confirming the same, sources say that 80% of the task has been completed and the remaining stretch will be ready soon this year.
Work on the six lane portion began in July 2017 and was at full pace, which was abruptly halted in March 2020 due to the COVID lockdown. After the approvals from the government during Lockdown 5, construction on the highway resumed. Monsoon and the presence of the COVID danger once again eased the pace of construction.
Of the 93.5km stretch, 47km belongs to the Chittor district. Midway bridges ranging from 750 mtr to 1km have been constructed on cross sections to easily access the internal populated villages. Commuting has begun across Menar, Mangalwad, Keer Ki Chowki, Dabok, Sheesham Ghati, Moti Kheda, Pariya, Darauli, Bhanwarisiya, Modi, Navania, Zinc Smelter, Power House and Dabok Chauraha
