13 Couples tied knot at Mass Wedding of Salvi Samaj
Mass Wedding of Bunkar (Salvi) Samaj was organised at Municipal Council ground Udaipur, on the auspicious day of Akshay Trithiya, the third lunar day of bright lunar fortnight which considered as one of the important day from religious point of view.

Today, on Akshay Trithiya 13 couple of Bunkar (Salvi) Samaj tied the nuptial knot in the 7th Mass wedding of the community. A procession was taken out collectively by the members of the community with brides and grooms who travelled across the city before reaching to the wedding ground to carry out the rituals of marriage.
According to the information around 2000 people of Bunkar community participated in the Mass Procession which started from Satyanarayan Temple at Surajpol and reached the Town Hall, thereafter ritual of Toran was collectively performed by the Grooms.
Gajendra Singh Shaktawat, Parliament Secretary was also present as the Chief Guest in wedding function and witnessed customary ‘Varmala’ of brides and groom after Toran. The couples were then taken to mandap for pheras.
It is believed that Akshay Trithiya is an eternal day for Marriage importantly and for other constructive works. People also prefer to purchase gold and silver ornaments on this day.
