In a case of ragging, 35 students of College of Technology and Engineering (CTAE) have been suspended by the college and inquiry initiated against them.
This suspension came after a complaint was lodged by 19 first year students. Prof H.S. Rathore informed that an 8 member investigation committee has been formed in this regard. If the students are found guilty then appropriate action will be initiated against them.
Dr Rathore said that prima facie it does not appear to be a case of ragging. The first year students have been studying in this college for last one year and it is rare to have instances of ragging being reported after such a long time.
As per the information received, 19 students had lodged a complaint against 35 senior students for ragging them in Sukher area on 24-Apr. After the students lodged a complaint, police came and arrested the accused students. College administration has not registered any case against the students.
