A three-storey house had tilted on one side due to technical faults during construction phase. This got it into a precarious position where it could fell off. The house-owner deployed an innovative solution and got the house lifted and straightened using a jack.

The incident happened in house of one Om Prakash Soni in Dabok village, Udaipur. Soni’s house had tilted on one side. One option was to destroy the entire structure and have it rebuilt. This was however turning out to be very expensive. As an alternate, Soni deployed a mechanism that he watched on Youtube for straightening the structure.

Soni consulted with technical people and contacted a Haryana based company called Shiv Lifting and Shifting for the task. 150 jacks were used to support the house. Gradually, the house was straightened by 6 inches. The entire task took about one month. The house is now straight.

During the entire process, due care was taken as any negligence could have brought down the entire structure.
