Apurvi Chandela, India’s international shooter will be inaugurating Rajasthan’s first school based Rifle Shooting Range at the Delhi Public School, Udaipur. The launch is set for 9 July.
DPS hence becomes the first school in Rajasthan to have a shooting range established in-premises for its students – getting them understand and excel in this sport, right from school days.
This 10 meter shooting range will provide 5 manual rifles, 4 electronic rifles and 4 electronic pistols for training purpose. Imported from Germany, this state-of-the-art equipment will ensure that the students are exposed to the best in shooting technology. The rifles and pistols are similar to the ones used at the Rio Olympics.
DPS will also simultaneously inaugurating the Robotics Lab and Language Lab. This Robotics facility will provide students with kits and accessories to develop projects around artificial human interface.
The Language Lab will ensure that students are groomed to excel in English by understanding the clarity and accuracy required for delivering astute and polished English in their interaction at different levels. All of these facilities have been introduced to facilitate overall development for the students, which will open new avenues and opportunities now and in future while at the same time, develop them into globally compatible citizens as they grow out of school.
Pro-Vice Chancellor of DPS Udaipur, Govind Agarwal and acting Principal Sanjay Narvaria said that they are confident students will develop into future champions once they are provided with state-of-the-art facilities under strict discipline and training.
