Dawoodi Bohra Community of Udaipur has observed the auspicious day of Eid-e-Ghadeer today; consisted of community sermons presented by Aamil Sheikh Mustafa Moiaddi at Moiadpura Mosque located at Boharwadi.

Bohra men and women also observed fast today.

According to the Shia belief, the day is marked because of the historic event that took place thousands of years ago in a field known as Ghadeer-e-Khum, in the Arabian desert, where prophet Mohammad announced Hazrat Ali, cousin and son-in-law of Prophet as the Leader of Islamic Caliphate and the second after the Prophet.

Dawoodi Bohra, one of the Shia sects of Islam devotedly observe the day of Ghadeer with various religious and social activities.
