‘Chhappan Bhog’ to Lord Hanuman on Annakoot Utsav

In Annakoot Utsav being celebrated across Udaipur, Chhappan Bhog (food and sweet dishes) were offered to Lord Hanuman at Sutharwada, organized by Sunder Kand Samiti; the samiti also held a cultural evening, with a Bhajan Sandhya performed by a devotional group from Chittorgarh.

In Annakoot Utsav being celebrated across Udaipur, Chhappan Bhog (food and sweet dishes) were offered to Lord Hanuman at Sutharwada, organized by Sunder Kand Samiti; the samiti also held a cultural evening, with a Bhajan Sandhya performed by a devotional group from Chittorgarh.

Earlier this evening, an Annakoot Utsav was celebrated in Hanuman Temple at Sutharwada, in which a special makeover was given to idol of Hanuman, a group from Chittorgarh sung devotional songs on the eve and demonstrated tableau of stories relating to Lord Hanuman.

According to Kailash Sahu, organizing head of the samiti, 56 different types of foods and sweets were offered to the God. The food varieties were under preparation from past 3 days and on the occasion a Langer (Mass Dinning) of around 3000 devotees was also arranged.

Sahu added that, while, Annakoot Utsav is being celebrated at the temple from past seven years by their samiti, a Sunder Kand Paath (learning session) is held on every Tuesday, round the year.

Expenses for the year round weekly event are managed by a mere contribution of Rs. 30 per month collected from 35 members of the samiti, whereas for Annakoot an amount of Rs. 501 is collected from each member.
