The water project aims to resolve the water crisis of Udaipur. It was renamed to ‘Mohan Lal Sukhadia Water Project’ on the occasion of the 61st birthday of Ashok Gehlot. Phase 4 of this project is intended to supply water to the lakes of Udaipur. It included digging a tunnel for a special pipeline.

The four-phased Dewas, longest water-transport tunnel in the state, will bring water to the Lakes by the impact of gravity from the Mansi-Vakal Dam.

Dewas has also faced a lot of mishaps, including an accident in April where one worker died and ten were injured.
