EVOLVE 2018 : Area Level Contest of Toastmasters conducted in Udaipur

The Toastmasters fraternity of Udaipur witnessed a highly energetic, collaborative and enthusiastic Area Level Humorous Speech Contest and Speech Evaluation Contest: EVOLVE 2018 for Area H1, Division H, District 41 , Toastmasters International.
Area H1 of Toastmasters comprises of a community club (open for all Udaipurites) – Udaipur Toastmasters Club and two Institutional Clubs – Techno Ariston, the Toastmasters Club of Techno NJR Institute of Technology) and Silvertongues, the Toastmasters Club of Indian Institute of Management Udaipur.
Winners of Humorous Speech Contest and Speech Evaluation Contest held at these Clubs represented their clubs in the Area Level contest.
Registration chair, Vinod Lohar (Udaipur Toastmasters Club), allocated tokens to all participants of the event, to make sure they became eligible for lucky draws that were held during the event.
The Sergeant at Arms – Dhvani Minda (Techno Ariston) and Chirag Shah (Udaipur Toastmasters Club) started by introducing the rules and guidelines and had fun activities to energize the audience.
Contest Chair Tahir Lukkawala (Udaipur Toastmasters Club) and Aniket Rawat (Techno Ariston) hosted the Humorous Speech Contest and Speech Evaluation Contest, in the perfect sequence with lot of entertainment and knowledge sharing.
Chief Judge Tushar Arora (Techno Ariston) and his secret team of judges selected equally from all the three clubs, ensured a fair and unbiased judging for the best speakers.
Timers Amit Gupta (Udaipur Toastmasters Club) and Sai Pavan Reddy (Silvertongues) kept a watch on timing of each speaker to ensure they fitted in the eligibility criteria as well as did not exceed the time limits.
Tally Counters Vidushi Kothari (Techno Ariston) , Kanika Mathur (Techno Ariston) and Sonia Keswani (Udaipur Toastmasters Club) consciously calculated the points from judges for each participant.
Lucky draws for all registered members of the event got the following winners: Guest Shivani Tiwari, Toastmaster Mahima Sud and Toastmaster Zakiuddin Gorakhpurwala.
The event was followed by a high tea which helped everyone in networking.
Nishant Jain (Silvertongues) bagged the award for Winner of Humorous Speech Contest for Area H1, Division H, District 41 , Toastmasters International, while Badal Mehta (Techno Ariston) and Aniket Rawat (Udaipur Toastmasters Club) stood Runner Up and Second Runner Up respectively.
Parul Srivastava (Techno Ariston) bagged the award for Winner of Evaluation Speech Contest for Area H1, Division H, District 41 , Toastmasters International, while Tariq Hassan (Silvertongues) and Mubarika Mohd. (Udaipur Toastmasters Club) stood Runner Up and Second Runner Up respectively.
The winners will now be representing Udaipur in the Division Level Contest for Division H i.e Rajasthan, on 16th December 2018 at Jaipur.
The whole Area Contest was conducted under the able guidance of Area Director for Area H1 (Udaipur), Toastmaster Sonia Keswani. The team from Division H (Rajasthan) headed by Division Director Toastmaster Ajvot Ghai along with Area Director of Area H4(of Jaipur) Toastmaster Mahima Sud came to Udaipur for guidance and training all the role players and the volunteers to ensure that a well prepared and structured area contest gets conducted at Udaipur.
In all EVOLVE 2018, Area Level Humorous Speech Contest and Speech Evaluation Contest, came up as a successful event for all Toastmasters in Udaipur. It was possible only because of the relentless and collaborative efforts of all the volunteers and role players, who ensured that the leadership, communication and management skills learnt through Toastmasters are poured back to its roots. Such events not just bring out leaders, but also help the Toastmasters fraternity become a strong rooted family of likeminded individuals who wish to excel in in a positive and supportive self-paced learning environment to develop communication and leadership skills, which in turn foster self-confidence and personal growth.
