Few days back, I received some guests coming from Jaipur. I need to reserve 2 rooms in any of the good economical hotel in Udaipur. I was not so sure about it because there are so many hotels in Udaipur and it was my first experience. I visited few of them; one very beautiful hotel I came across was Gold Leaf. Though, I didn’t booked rooms there because of some small issue but I loved that hotel so much that I decided to review it here. This is first Udaipur Hotel I am reviewing and I promise to come up with more such special hotel reviews in future. Gold Leaf Hotel is situated near Gulab Bagh, very next to Ice Factory. It is also 500m far from bus stand 800m from railway station and 500m from city palace. Why I liked this hotel so much is because of its many unique features, high technology and its nominal price. Inaugurated on 2 ^nd of April 2010, this newly launched hotel is revolutionizing Udaipur Hotel Industry. The clean, marble coated floors, friendly staff and their dedication in making every guest satisfied which I noticed sitting in their lobby for half an hour has impressed me. I met the owner Mr Kailash Agarwal, who was so soft spoken and friendly, they answered my every logical and illogical questions with great patience. Mr Agarwal said that Gold Leaf is basically designed for corporate guests, but it is also a favorite choice of tourists. They disclosed so many secrets of Gold Leaf which surprised me and made me eager to write about it as soon as I reached home. Mr xyz has also applied for 3 star category for Gold Leaf, however I think this hotel is serving everything what 5 and 7 star hotel serves.

Rooms: 34 luxurious air conditioned rooms with wooden flooring, equipped with all necessary facilities like flat screen TV, table, chair, electronic locker. Wash room with glass separated bath area. Rooms of two different types are available in Gold Leaf, one with Double Beds and one with two separate beds. They have capacity of adding extra bed as per requirement.  To make guests more relaxed the mattresses on each bed is 8 inches thick with pocket springs. Wooden flooring and UPVC windows in room keep it cold in Udaipur’s summer and keeps it noiseless.

Restaurants: There are 2 different restaurants in Gold Leaf, Maple is at roof top garden and Veggie is at ground floor. A very unique concept of these restaurants is that one of them serves pure 100% vegetarian food and other is continental; they have different kitchens, different utensils and a complete different staff for both of these restaurants. This gives a feeling of comfort to their guests, especially those who are pure vegetarians.

Water Supply: They have very unique system of water supply, to consume less energy and to avoid wastage of water Gold Leaf has done extra precautions. First, their water tank is not on top of the building, it is located in the basement area as the water is coming out from ground through pumps. They have Swedish water pumps. The best thing about their water supplying system is, once a guest opens tap, the pump automatically starts in the basement and supply water till the tap is on. As soon as the guest closes the tap, water pump gets switched off. This makes water wastage less and also saves electricity. They have 100% pure water supplying everywhere in hotel. So it is also safe to drink same water you are using for bath. They have 24 hours hot water supply, for that they used a Japanese pump to make it hot, 24 hrs the hot water keep rotating in the main pipes of building which gives you instant hot water any time.

Electricity: Gold leaf has 100% power back up. Certainly no electric service will interrupt if lights went off. They use LED lights everywhere, which consume only 12 watts of power in comparison to general local lights. They have multi power Air conditioning system which is 30% energy saver, which again consumes less electricity. Based on Service Duct Provision, every room has their individual power circuit box and connectivity. If an adjoining room gets disrupted with any power service, no other room in that particular floor or building will get affected. The whole building is also zipped with wifi, so accessing internet is not an issue.

Parking: Their location is bit congested but the parking area is very well made in basement. Security: Hotel Gold Leaf is equipped with CCTV cameras in common area, 24 hours security in entrance and parking, fire sensors everywhere in hotel area. If you ask me to point a single disadvantage then I will say there is nothing except one facility which is unavailable, they have no swimming pool. Which is not a disadvantage but you can say a service unavailable.
