Advocates of Rajasthan called a Bandh today i.e. 17^th September, 2010 on 10:00 a.m. to 02:00 p.m. The reason behind today’s Bandh, as one of the leading advocate in Udaipur Mr. Kalpit Jain stated was:

“For exam of ADJ (Additional District Judge) 3 papers are mandatory to be cleared and the candidate should have at least 7 years of practice and 35 years of age to get qualified. But, since sometime there has been a controversy related to the appointments of ADJ’s in the state i.e. less appointments  are seen compared to other states”.

The Bandh, initially started by the Advocates later received support by a Political Party. All School, Colleges and Government Institutions were closed for the day including private banks in Udaipur.

Bandh turned out successful in Udaipur as Main markets such as Bapu Bazaar, Ashivini Market, Suroj Pol, Haathi Pol, Chetak Circle etc. all were in support of the Bandh. Court Chouraha was blocked by the 2 wheeler owners.

According to many Advocates this bandh is not an end. The strikes would continue till their demands get fulfilled.
