After a day long fast and rituals, women and girls were seen more than happy when they got a glimpse of Karva Chauth moon at 8.30 in the evening today.

Karva Chauth festival, which is celebrated every year by married women to pray for the well-being of their husbands, was celebrated blissfully in the city. The shopping outlets were flooded with women of all ages for the whole day; and even husbands were seen shopping to find the gifts for their better halves.

Celebrating the festival in Rajasthani ritualistic style, women observed fast, got together in group in the evening and waited till the moon showed up.

Afterwards, women worshiped the deity and prayed for the well-being of their husbands. Later, they exchanged Karvas and concluded their fast.
