Mandala Pooja to begin at Sree Ayyappa Temple
The 41-days’ Mandala pooja will begin from tomorrow, Friday, the 16th Nov. 2012 at Sree Ayyappa Temple, Meera Marg, Udaipur.
The 41-days’ Mandala pooja will begin from tomorrow, Friday, the 16th Nov. 2012 at Sree Ayyappa Temple, Meera Marg, Udaipur.
During this period, the daily ceremonies will include, Ganapati Homam (Havan), Special Pooja, Kalabhabhachart (Bhagwan Ayyappa ko Chandan ka lep karma), Chuttuvilakku (lighting of lamps around temple) and Bhajan Kirthan.
On 16th November the program starts at 5.30 a.m. with Nirmalyam followed by Ganapati Homam, Usha-pooja, The Bhagwat Parayan and in the evening from 6.30 p.m. deeparadhana, Bhagwati Sewa, Kalabhachart, chuttuvilakku, Bhajan Kirthan, Fireworks, Athazha-puja & Mahaprasadi.
Ayyappa Seva Samiti has been celebrating Mandala Pooja at Sree Ayyappa Temple, Udaipur, for the last 29 years on the lines of Mandala Pooja at the main temple of Sree Ayyappa at Sabari Mala (Sabari Hills), in Kerala.
This seasonal hill temple reopens on the 1st day of Malayalam calendar month ‘Vrischikam’ every year for Mandala Pooja and this year it happens on 16th November. A devotee who wishes to trek to Sabari Mala for darshan of Sree Ayyappa has to observe 41 days’ penance.
