In order to prescribe peace and accord in the city on the day of Milad-un-Nabi (Birthday of Prophet Muhammad), the Muslim Mahasabha has appealed district collector to see/ensure that all liquor shops in the city remain shut on the day of the festival.

A memorandum has been presented in district collector’s office by members of Muslim Mahasabha, an organization that works for educational, social and economical welfare of the community

According to Mahasabha’s regional vice president Akhtar Ali Siddiqui, the day of Milad Un Nabi is celebrated with joy and respect. Members across the Muslim community participate in a massive procession through the city on this occasion. To avoid any anti social or unlawful activities members requested district authorities to release orders for closure of liquor shops in the city on the day.

In the absence of district collector Vikas Bhale, additional district collector B.R Bhati received the representatives of Mahasabha and assured to respond soon.
