Armed with the help and participation of non resident Indians, an attempt is being made to develop southern Rajasthan. Many non profit and non government organizations working in Southern Rajasthan, including scientists, industrialists, educationists and other responsible citizens will come together to form the “Mewar Development Coalition”.

This initiative was planned in a conference ‘India Development of America Foundation for Sustainable Development’ held by the joint association of Dr. Mohan Singh Mehta Trust and Vidya Bhavan Polytechnic college on Saturday 18th February.

Jagat Singh Mehta, former foreign secretary, Sumtilal Bohra, Additional Excise Commissioner, Riyaz Tehsin, President of Vidhya Bhawan, Vijay S Mehta, President of Trust, Dr. Mohanlal Jain, President of IDCA (India Development Coalition America) and Puja Morada, President of the Rural Research Institute, Gurgaon agreed on the point that only a simple life, environmentally centered development and responsible citizenship can boost prosperity and development in Southern Rajasthan.

Various sessions were organized in the seminar where Rural and Urban Development, Water and Hygiene and Education and Career prospects were discussed by the attendees.

The major topics discussed comprehensively in the seminar were:

Career , Health and education opportunities should be created in villages to prevent migration.

People attached with work of Rain water harvesting should get government subsidy.

There is a need of re thinking laws and regulations made on education, inflation, poverty and environment.

More than 25 people from various fields including NGOs, government and non government organizations, scientists and educationists have participated in the seminar.

The seminar was conducted by the Secretary of Trust, Nandkishore Sharma, while thanksgiving was delivered by Roma Bhardwaj, Director of Foundation for Sustainable Development.
