Several programs will be organized by Jain community for 5 days starting from September 28 to October 2, when several community members, who were fasting for past few days, will break their fasts.

Several programs will be organized by Jain community for 5 days starting from September 28 to October 2, when several community members, who were fasting for past few days, will break their fasts.

In the event, organized under the blessings of Acharya Sukumalnandi, 3 people fasting for past 32 days,  26 people for 16 days and 136 for past 10 days, will break there fasts during these five days.

Upvas, in Jain religious customs and philosophy, is an important act of worship. People keep fasts to cleanse their souls and to regenerate and improve their power to abstain from worldly pleasures.

On September 29, 136 people fasting from past 10 days will break their fasts.

On the next day, at 2 pm, several students will be felicitated and at 7:30 pm ‘Rath Yatra’, a religious procession, will be carried out. Afterwards, a felicitation will be organized for the fasting people.

On October 2, a religious procession will be carried out.
