A two days seminar on Regional Languages and Literature was organized by Makhan Lal Chaturvedi Govt. Girls PG College on 25th and 26th February 2012. Dr. Shriram Parihar, Principal and Well known writer in Regional Literature was the one to organize this seminar.

A two days seminar on Regional Languages and Literature was organized by Makhan Lal Chaturvedi Govt. Girls PG College on 25th and 26th February 2012. Dr. Shriram Parihar, Principal and Well known writer in Regional Literature was the one to organize this seminar.

The main concern of the seminar was the “Regional Languages and Literature of Madhya Pradesh”. The two days seminar was conducted in different sessions in which participants expressed their concern for the conservation and rejuvenation of Malvi, Nimadi, Bundeli and Bagheli languages and their literature.

“Regional languages are on the verge of extinction, if we see the status of these languages in post-independence times, it has become worse,” says Dr. Mahendra Bhanawat, a well known writer in Folk Art.

He added, “If we see this situation in the context of the whole world, then everyday 3 languages are facing the danger of extinction. So, it is the moral duty of writers and authors to promote the use of regional languages in their writings as it will provide a new way of sustainable growth for these languages.”

The well recognized personalities from the field of regional literature and languages attended the seminar. The list of participants include Dr. Bhagwati Lal Rajpurohit, Dr. Shailendra Sharma, Dr. Premlata Chutel, Dr. Kapil Tiwari, Dr. Jagdish Sharma, Basant Nirgune, Dr. Aarti Dube, Dr. Puran Sehgal, Dr. Shyam Sunder Dube, Dr. Anand Prakash Tripathi, Dr. Satyendra Sharma, Dr. Aarya Prasad Tripathi and Dr. Rajkumar.
