Panna Vilas was renovated in November 2008, prior to that it used to be a residential building of a respected Parihar family, well known for their family legacy of weapons. The Palace was launched in January 2009 with a staff of 5 employees and few attractions. Today, after couple of years Panna Vilas has 15 employees including 2 managers. The restaurant and hookah are the finest of the town and is treated as one the best hotels of Udaipur.

I had a word with the manager i.e. Mahendra Singh Rathor, he happens to be the oldest employees of the hotel. According to him, today Panna Vilas has 4 waiters, 2 room boys, 2 cooks, 3 helpers and 2 managers. He also told that they have 10 rooms in operation now and are coming soon with more rooms. Out of 10 they have 3 lake facing rooms and other 7 are non-lake facing.

The most interesting fact about Panna Vilas is about Prateek.Ks Parihar who is just 21 years of age and is an active owner of Panna Vilas on behalf of his father Karni Singh Parihar and takes care of the Restaurant and the upcoming Sheesha Lounge. I personally feel that it is my good luck to have Panna Vilas as my first Hotel Review for UT.

The family legacy of weapons of the famous Parihar family can be witnessed in every room of the hotel. The Royal topidar guns are fused on the walls of the room and hotel. This Royal look of Panna Vilas makes the hotel an imperial luxury for its customers.

Rooms:

Currently Panna Vilas has 10 rooms in operation. The ground floor of the Hotel is coming with more lake facing rooms. All rooms have a similarity i.e. be it the bed sheets or pillow covers or may be the curtains; everything is subjective to the majestic traditions of mewar. The topidar guns fixed on the walls of the room creates imperial atmosphere for the customer. The rooms have all the latest amenities of T.V., A.C. and Telephone etc.

Roof Top Restaurant:

Panna Vilas has a roof top restaurant namely “Winds & Waves Imperial Multi-Cuisine” which has a peaceful view to the calm and composed Fateh Sagar Lake. They have arrangements for Rajasthani Cultural Programs on the roof top. Candle light dinner is clubbed with entertainment zones as customers can view TV Programs on big screen while having food. Besides the restaurant and screen, roof top also has enough space for a lavish DJ Party.

Sheesha-e-Jung:

Panna Vilas is the only hookah place in Udaipur to provide the traditional hookah to its customers. A beautiful lounge is been awaited for a launch by many Udaipurities. Sheesha-e-Jung will have 74 flavours for hookah including the richest flavours of ecstasy, plump, gold, water melon and coconut base hookah etc. For people who love trying 2 or 3 flavours at the same time, Panna Vilas’s Sheehsa-e-Jung is the right place for them.

Food:

Panna Vilas deals both in vegetarian as well as non-vegetarian food. However, the non-vegetarian food of its kitchen is in more demand.
