Two school students of Delhi Public School were allegedly bitten by traffic constable for not wearing helmets. The family members of the students have lodged a police complaint against this inhuman action.
The incident happened yesterday at Fatehpura circle when two students were caught there by a traffic constable. The boys, Nabil Sheikh and Yatharth Devpura, are students of Class XI at Delhi Public School. Students claim that they had shown their helmet to the cop but he was not satisfied and he bit them.
Shabbir Husain, father of Nabil, said that Nabil did not mention about the incident till end of day when his hand became sore and he was taken to MB hospital. He was later discharged after giving preventive medication.
Shabbir said that traffic police should penalize citizens for not donning a helmet but to go to the extent of biting was not acceptable.
An oral complaint has been lodged with the traffic department. Traffic Sub-Inspector, Hemant Kumar acknowledged receiving a verbal complaint and said that strict action would be taken against the erring cop.
