Udaipur Lake overflow to wait | Low water level in catchment water bodies
While Udaipur has seen a decent rainfall this monsoon, the paucity of rainfall in the catchment areas has left the water bodies there will low water levels. As a result, till some real good rainfall hits the catchment area, overflow of lakes in Udaipur will have to wait.

Devas First Phase (Alsigarh), with a maximum capacity of 34 feet is completely empty. Aakodra dam, with a maximum capacity of 60 feet has been filled only till 12 feet.
Feeder into Lake Fateh Sagar, Bada Madar and Chhota Madar also have some way to go. Chhota Madar with a maximum capacity of 21 feet is currently holding around 10 feet water.

With Fateh sagar lake at 4.5 feet (max capacity: 13 feet) and Lake Pichola at 6.33 feet (maximum capacity: 11 feet), lake overflow seems some time away. Monsoon in Udaipur continues till September and the city is praying for some good rains in the coming month so that the lakes overflow.
Udaisagar with a maximum capacity of 24 feet is at 14.76 feet while Jaisamand lake with a maimum capacity of 27 feet is at 17.5 feet. Jaisamand is the main feeder lake of fresh water for Udaipur.
