Foundation for a large number of projects as part of Udaipur Smart City campaign was laid today on the inaugural day. State Home Minister, Gulab Chand Kataria did the inaugural honours in the programme organised by Udaipur Smart City Limited.
Foundation was laid today for Open Air Gymnasium at Gulab Bagh, Primary health care centre at Jagdish Chowk (estimated to cost around Rs 75 Lakhs) and Command and Control room at Municipal Corporation (estimated around Rs 122 Lakhs).
Gulab Chand Kataria also kicked off the Rs 5.99 Crore Heritage Conservation and Development project at Heritage House. Smart Class room was inaugurated at Kanwarpada, Jagdish Chowk. He then inaugurated the solar plant at the roof top of Mira Bai Community Centre, Shivaji Nagar.
Home Minister then moved to Railway Station to flag off Tourist bus and then travelled in one of these along with others and reached Fateh Memorial.
He inaugurated an Air conditioned room here and looked at the various tourist places of Udaipur via a big screen there. He opined that similar big screens should be placed outside so that people can be made aware about tourism destinations within and around Udaipur and can benefit from the same.
Rural MLA Phool Singh Meena, Mayor Chandra Singh Kothari, Deputy Mayor Lokesh Dwivedi, Udaipur Smart City Limited CEO Siddharth Sihag were among a large set of dignitaries present throughout the function.
The ball has been set rolling. We hope and wish that the momentum with which things have started continues and Udaipur emerges as the Smartest City in the country.
